Community League

Community League Description

The Community program is offered to 10U and 12U players, based off age eligibility for the year.  For 14U, see West Metro Thunder program.  Teams are divided evenly by ability and formed at the 10U and 12U levels. League games are played against other Big West communities. Teams typically meet two nights per week for games/practices. Teams will participate in a state qualifying tournament (at the end of June) and if qualifying, a state tournament (early July). The season runs from May – July.

Season Calendar
Registration:  Registration is completed online and is typically open in January-February.

Season:  Begins in early May, when the city releases fields, and ends late June or /mid-July.  Doubleheader games will be once per week at the 10U level.  For 12U and 14U, doubleheader games will be once a week until school is out and then twice a week thereafter.  In prior years 12U practices/plays on Mon/Wed nights and 10U & 14U practices/plays on Tue/Thurs nights.  Although not anticipated, this is subject to change by the Big West.  We will confirm the schedules as soon as they are available.  There will be a State Qualifying Tournament in late June for 10U and in mid-July for 12U and 14U.  The cost of the State Qualifying Tournament will be covered by CYSA.  The State Tournament would require additional funds from the team families.

Team Selections
Teams are formed with the emphasis on balancing talent, experience and socialization.  Equal playing time is emphasized, but is not guaranteed for all playing positions.  A child's safety must be considered when player rotations are developed.  "Friend Requests" are available on the registration.  While efforts will be made to accommodate a "Friend Request", no guarantees can be made.  To be considered, friend requests must only list one other player and be reciprocated.  If player "A" requests to be on the same team as player "B",  player "B" must also request to be on player "A's team.  Any additional special request must be made in advance via email stating the circumstances. Emails can be sent to cysafastpitch@gmail.com
