CYSA offers a recreational in-house league for girls in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Teams will play in the 3CV league that is comprised of in-house teams from Chaska, Chanhassen, Carver and Victoria. Travel to these other communities is required. The league plays by ASA rules with some modifications reflecting 3CV values.
This is a coach pitch division with the emphasis on teaching basic skills, general rules of the game and equal playing time/positions (at coach's discretion due to missed practices, sickness or absence). Games/practices are now scheduled on Monday and Wednesdays, but may change due to field availability or inclement weather.
CYSA In-House Coordinator
Registeration: Registration is completed online and is typically open in January-March.
Season Begins: Mid-May (First 2 weeks there will be 1 game/week and 2 games/week thereafter) and takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Teams are formed with the emphasis on balancing talent, experience and socialization. "Friend Requests" are available on the registration. While efforts will be made to accommodate a "Friend Request", no guarantees can be made. To be considered, if player "A" requests to be on the same team as player "B", player "B" must also request to be on player "A's team. Only one friend request per player is permitted and the two friends must request each other as indicated in the example. Any other special request must be made in advance via email stating the circumstances. Emails can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
Coaches will conduct draft after tryouts.
The purpose of tryouts is to assess the player's skill level and use this information for the team selection process. Registration must be completed prior to evaluation day!
Players will be evaluated on catching, pitching, throwing, base running, hitting and fielding. Please dress appropriately (no cleats) and bring your glove.
Parent Volunteer Expectations
CYSA runs entirely from parent volunteers. A successful season and experience for the girls depends on our parents. Each player will be assessed a $100 volunteer fee/$200 for families with 2 or more players . Upon fulfilling a 6 hour volunteer commitment (or 9 hours for families with 2 or more players), your volunteer requirement will be considered complete. More information about volunteers opportunities can be found on the Volunteer Page of the website.
The 2019 registration fees are as follows: (there is a $20 late fee for registrations completed after February 23)
K/1st/2nd Grade $90 + $50 (BBQ tickets) + $100 volunteer fee (see above)
