This league is comprised of area communities beyond the teams in the former 3CV In House league (Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Bloomington, etc. . .) Players will be classified by birth date rather than by their grade level. Registeration: Registration is completed online and is typically open in January-February.
Season: Begins in early May and ends late June/mid-July. Doubleheader games will be once per week at the 10U level. For 12U and 14U, games will be once a week until school is out and then twice a week thereafter. In prior years 12U plays on Mon/Wed nights and 10U & 14U plays on Tue/Thurs nights. Although not anticipated, this is subject to change by the Big West. We will confirm the schedules as soon as they are available. There will be a State Qualifying Tournament in late June for 10U and in mid-July for 12U and 14U. The cost of the State Qualifying Tournament will be covered by CYSA. The State Tournament would require additional funds from the team families.
Teams are formed with the emphasis on balancing talent, experience and socialization. While efforts will be made to keep previous year teams together, no guarantees can be made for special requests. Coaches will conduct draft after tryouts.
2019 Tryouts are scheduled for Sunday, March 10. The purpose of tryouts is to assess the player's skill level and use this information for the team selection process. Registration must be completed prior to evaluation day!
Players will be evaluated on catching, pitching, throwing, base running, hitting and fielding. Please dress appropriately (no cleats) and bring your glove.
Parent Volunteer Expectations
CYSA runs entirely from parent volunteers. A successful season and experience for the girls depends on our parents. Each player will be assessed a $100 volunteer fee/$200 for families with 2 or more players (paid by check at evaluations). Upon fulfilling an 8 hour volunteer commitment (or 12 hours for families with w or more players), the check will be destroyed. Community League divisions
Divisions are now formed by the players' age level as of 12/31/2018:
10U: Players age 10 and under as of 12/31/2018 and born in 2008, 200 or 2010 (if in 3rd grade)
12U: Players age 12 and under as of 12/31/2018 and born in 2006 and 2007
14U: Players age 14 and under as of 12/31/2018 and born in 2004 and 2005
10U: $175 + $50 (BBQ tickets) + $100 volunteer fee (see above)
12U: $175 + $50 (BBQ tickets) + $100 volunteer fee (see above)
14U: $175 + $50 (BBQ tickets) + $100 volunteer fee (see above)
** Head Coaches are reimbursed for their daughter's registration fee at the end of the season.
** Assistant Coaches (1 per team) are reimbursed for their daughter's registration fee at the end of the season.
Registration fees cover the following expenses:
-Administration costs (storage rental, PO box, website, copying/postage, insurance etc.)
-Equipment (bags, balls, bats, helmets, first aid kits, score books etc.)
-Tournament fee for State Qualifier (other tournaments to be covered by team families)
